Are you the new Carbon Footprint and GHG Emissions Consultant? Do you want to contribute to a more sustainable future in the food industry?

Biocode is a Finnish technology company that has developed a science-based carbon footprint calculator specifically for the food sector. Currently many food companies are taking important steps on their carbon accounting journey and have a steep learning curve to manage, which is why they are turning to us.

We are looking for a Carbon Footprint and GHG Emissions Consultant who will play a key role in ensuring the success of our customers’ sustainability projects.

Role and responsibilities:

This role combines carbon accounting expertise and a working in close collaboration with a client. You will serve as a primary point of contact for the client – educating them in GHG emissions accounting, help them in gathering the data, responding to their questions and review the final results with them. You will be responsible for making sure that:

• the client has clarity on GHG accounting project scope and objectives
• the client learns to use Biocode software to manage their emissions calculation
• the client understands how and where to collect reliable data
• the client feels like their challenges and issues are addressed promptly
• the client understands and feels comfortable using the results with their stakeholders

As an expert of a typical GHG accounting project, you will for example be modeling emission factors from existing sources, identifying methodological boundaries, and provide practices and protocols reliable GHG accounting is based on. Furthermore, depending on your background and interests, we can modify your role accordingly. For example, you might also serve as an expert in also other environmental impact projects or provide trainings on the topic.

As a part of close-knit team, you will be expected to contribute your learnings and ideas for continuous development of Biocode. Your observations with clients will help us in identify ways to improve our services, provesses and the Biocode software.

What we’re looking for:

• Demonstrated experience in carbon accounting, familiarity with e.g. product-specific LCA and Scope 1-3 assessments, and a good understanding of acronyms such as CSRD, SBTi, FLAG and GHG-protocol
• Excellent communication skills: you can explain complex topics clearly, both in English and Finnish.
• Project management abilities: your structured way of working helps making sure that customers are managed with kind yet firm support
• A customer-focused mindset: you are passionate about helping clients succeed and supporting their goals.
• Analytical skills and attention to detail: you’re interested in data and its application, including tasks like emission factor modeling.
