Biocode’s 2025 product development wrapped – Here’s what we’ve been building!

In 2025, we focused on solving our customers’ four biggest challenges in emission calculation: less manual work, more automation, better integrations and data imports/exports, and easier primary data collection. Here’s an overview of what we released this year – and what’s just around the corner.

Making SBTi land-sector target setting easier

You now have access to the market’s first online FLAG calculator for land-use emissions.

It allows companies to calculate land-sector emissions and removals in line with the SBTi and the GHG Protocol Land Sector & Removals Guidance. No need for complex spreadsheets, and with results that are fast and always up to date.

Faster data collection from primary production

We built integrations with the most widely used farm management systems in Finland. With these integrations, farmers can now import emission-related data from Wisu or Agrineuvos directly into Biocode’s primary production calculator and then share it with their food industry partners.

The solution covers up to 90% of Finland’s cultivated land area, meaning the integration works for the vast majority of Finnish farmers.

Goodbye manual typing and emission factor guessing – AI now matches activity data and emission factors

Our corporate carbon footprint calculator now includes a bulk data import feature, allowing you to upload, for example, Excel-based data directly into Biocode. Built-in AI automatically matches your data with suitable emission factors from Biocode’s database.

So long, manual data entry — you won’t be missed!

AI chatbot supporting farmers with emission calculations

Biocode’s primary production calculator now includes a pilot AI chatbot to help farmers and producers with data collection and emission calculations.

Easier data exports from Biocode

You can now export your corporate footprint results to Excel and use them in your BI tools or dashboards. Leadership teams, marketing, communications, finance and sales all need emission data. That’s why these simple exports to internal systems are more important than ever.

Soon you can use your own emission factors in product LCAs

Do you calculate carbon footprints for food products? You may have received a supplier-specific emission factor based on primary data. Previously, Biocode only allowed the use of emission factors from our own database or by asking us to upload your EF’s to the system.

Good news for at least us reserved Finns: soon you won’t need to contact us at all to use your own emission factors. You will be able to input and apply your own factors in the product calculator as well. We’ll miss your messages and chats — but hopefully we’ll talk again about more important things!

2025 was only the beginning
